The Pathway Programme
A one-year pathway to Sixth Form and beyond
A fully integrated boarding programme for ambitious international students aged 15–17.
The LWC Pathway Programme is a one-year, full-boarding programme designed to prepare international students for successful entry into Sixth Form and progression to leading UK universities.
From their first day, students are full members of the College. They live, learn, and board alongside British peers, gaining the academic confidence, cultural fluency, and independence required to thrive in a demanding UK senior school environment.
More than preparation. Real readiness.
Many international students arrive in the UK academically able, but unfamiliar with the expectations, pace, and culture of senior British schooling. Traditional pathway programmes often respond by separating students, simplifying the experience, or delaying integration.
The LWC Pathway Programme takes a different approach.
By combining structured academic preparation with full immersion in school life, the programme ensures students are not simply qualified for Sixth Form, but genuinely ready for it.
Students are not just ‘on a programme’. They belong.
Not every student is ready for the same step at the same time. Alongside the Pathway Programme, LWC offers a range of purposeful international experiences, including summer camps, winter camps, short winter-break programmes, and trusted partner-school routes.
Each is academically meaningful, pastoral-led, and connected to clear onward pathways. Together, they form an international ecosystem that allows students, families, and schools to engage with LWC in the way that suits them best.
Designed to build confidence, not guesswork.

Exceptional care, every day.
Boarding is at the heart of the Pathway experience. Students live within LWC’s senior boarding houses, supported by live-in houseparents who create a warm, structured, and supportive environment.
Pastoral care includes:
• 24/7 support from experienced house staff
• On-site medical and wellbeing provision
• Strong routines that build independence and confidence
• Close communication with families
This depth of care gives students the security to take academic and personal risks, and gives parents reassurance and peace of mind.
Personal attention, without limiting opportunity.
The Pathway Programme operates as a “school within a school”. Students benefit from:
• Small group support
• Close academic and pastoral oversight
• Tailored guidance
At the same time, they enjoy the full scale, facilities, and ambition of a leading UK boarding school. This balance is what allows students to feel known, while still accessing a rich and expansive education.
Designed to lead somewhere meaningful
The Pathway Programme prepares students for:
• Entry into Sixth Form
• The academic demands of A Levels
• Confident participation in senior school life
• Progression to leading UK and international universities
Beyond academics, students develop independence, resilience, and cultural fluency, qualities that underpin long-term success at university and beyond.
